Limited Edition “I Voted” sticker available
OKLAHOMA — Early voting for the June 16 election begins Thursday, giving voters an opportunity to cast their ballots before Election Day.
According to the Oklahoma State Election Board, in-person absentee voting, commonly referred to as early voting, will be available Thursday, June 11, and Friday, June 12, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., as well as Saturday, June 13, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Voters who participate in early voting will also have the chance to receive a limited-edition 'I Voted' sticker created in honor of America's upcoming 250th birthday. Oklahoma State Election Board Secretary Paul Ziriax said two commemorative sticker designs will be available at early voting sites and polling places across the state while supplies last.
Oklahoma voters are reminded that the state conducts closed primary elections. To vote in a political party's primary election, a voter must be registered with that party.
However, all registered voters, including Independents, are eligible to vote on State Question 832. Independent voters may also participate in nonpartisan races appearing on their ballots, including judicial elections and local propositions. Voters do not have to participate in a party primary in order to vote on the state question or nonpartisan contests.
Voters must cast their ballots in the county where they are registered. Sample ballots are available through the Oklahoma Voter Portal.
Those with questions about voting locations, ballots or election procedures may contact their county election board or the Oklahoma State Election Board at 405-521-2391.
