Gibson recognized as April Employee of the Month

DRUMRIGHT — City Manager Shawn Gibson was recognized as the City of Drumright’s employee of the month for April during the regular meeting of commissioners.

On April 13, city commissioners chose Gibson as employee of the month with Mayor Mark Whinnery describing Gibson’s impact on Drumright as “truly remarkable”.

Gibson was praised for his ongoing efforts to improve the community through infrastructure projects and grant funding in a later public announcement. Recent accomplishments listed included securing a grant for new playground equipments in the Country Club Heights neighborhood, coordinating repairs to a waterline on 141st Street, obtaining a new 12-hour holding cell for the Drumright Police Department, and helping the city receive a $500,000 grant for street paving.

Whinnery said his work had supported improvements to public safety, infrastructure, and the overall quality of life of residents in the area.

City commissioners encouraged residents to join them in congratulating Gibson and thanking him for his continued dedication to the City of Drumright.
