STILLWATER — Women for OSU awarded scholarships to 17 Oklahoma State University students during its annual symposium Thursday, including Sand Springs native Lindsay Owens.
Owens, a doctoral student in biomedical sciences with an expected graduation year of 2029, received the Sandra K. Trennepohl Women for OSU Endowed Scholarship.
The symposium, presented by Bank of Oklahoma, highlights students who demonstrate a commitment to philanthropy, leadership and service within their communities. Scholarship recipients are recognized for their efforts to improve access to education and health care, support underserved populations and contribute through outreach and mentorship.
Owens joins a group of scholars selected from across Oklahoma, the United States and internationally. Organizers say the program not only supports students academically but also encourages a lifelong commitment to giving back.
Since its inception, Women for OSU has awarded nearly $900,000 to 185 students, according to OSU Foundation President Blaire Atkinson. Past recipients have collectively given back more than $266,000 to the university.
The annual symposium also included recognition of the organization’s Philanthropist of the Year and featured speakers focused on leadership, generosity and community impact.
Next year’s Women for OSU Symposium is scheduled for April 22, 2027.
