SAPULPA — Oklahomans who want to change their political party affiliation must submit their request by March 31, Creek County Election Board Secretary Vicki Martin said.Voters may update their affiliation online through the Oklahoma Voter Portal or by completing a new voter registration application.

Record warmth fuels wildfires and drought in February

February ended as the warmest on record across Oklahoma, a distinction that also pushed the climatological winter of 2025–26 to its warmest on record. The unusual warmth combined with expanding and intensifying drought to create critical fire weather conditions across much of the state.

Emergency Drought Committee Approves Assistance Program

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Emergency Drought Committee met on Feb. 24 and voted to approve a new program aimed at providing emergency drought assistance to Oklahoma producers. The application period opens next Monday on March 9 and runs until June 30.
