CLEVELAND — Central Technology Center has opened a new location at 220 S. Broadway in Cleveland, adding a satellite site for short courses and public-safety training.
The site is already hosting hands-on classes such as Barn Quilt Painting, Canning 101, and Business Basics.
“These classes are about more than skills,” said Taytum Kelly, Central Tech’s agribusiness coordinator. “They’re about community, creativity, and confidence.”
The Cleveland location is also being used for workforce and emergency-response instruction. Last month, Central Tech partnered with Pawnee County Emergency Management and the Oklahoma Department of Homeland Security to deliver a 21-hour ICS-300 course for firefighters from Luther, Prue, Verdigris, Olive, Pawnee and the Oklahoma Forestry Service. The advanced class builds on ICS-100/200 and covers incident management under the National Incident Management System (NIMS) for multijurisdictional and multiagency operations.
“This training shows exactly why we’re in Cleveland,” said Mark Cotner, Central Tech’s assistant superintendent. “We’re here to support both our community and our workforce.”
Central Tech says the Cleveland site will serve high school students, working adults and retirees with a mix of personal-interest and career-focused offerings. Upcoming classes are open to the public with set fees and flexible schedules.
