Lady Tornadoes beat Woodland 10-9

The Drumright Lady Tornadoes started the week off good with a 10-9 win over Woodland. Woodland got ahead of the Lady Tornadoes right off the bat leading 3-1. Sometimes our ladies get off to a slow start, but the ladies trailing 3-1 going into the bottom of the third soared back with 6 runs, three of them homers.

Evie Ools hit a 2 run home run also scoring Addy Ingraham, the next batter, Boston Lunsford, hit a home run line drive. Kailan Roden singled and Paisley Christy hit a 2 run homer. Aubree “Breezy” Brimmer singled and Kali Jo DeShazer ran for her.

It looked like the lady Tornadoes might run rule Woodland, it was 9-2 after the ladies got 3 runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Lauren Janna singled, Ingraham singled, Ools singled, Lunsford singled in Janzen, and Roden singled in Ingraham and Ools.

Woodland made a comeback with 3 runs in the top of the sixth to tie it at 9, but in the bottom of the sixth, Ingraham singled and Evie Ools who was 4 for 4 with 3 RBIs singled hitting the wall the second time of the day.

Woodland had the bases loaded with 1 out and Lady Tornado defensive plays came from Janzen at short, Christy at third, Brimmer as pitcher.

Hitting for the lady tornadoes were Lunsford 4 for 4 with 4 RBIs. Ingraham 3 for 4, Brimmer 3 for 3, Roden 1 for 4 with 2 RBIs, Paisley Christy 1 for 3 with 2 RBIs, and Janzen 1 for 3.

Other defensive plays were made by Braelin Wright as rover, Ingraham in center, Ools at first, Lunsford at second.

The ladies then went to the Ripley festival who had some very tough teams in it and several Drumright players were either under the weather or hurting. The ladies first game they came back to edge Perkins-Tryon 2-1. Both runs happened in the top of the fourth. Boston Lunsford doubled, Wright singled, Paisley singled in Lunsford, and Aubrey Allen on a force play scored Wright.

Janzen had a good game at shortstop, along with Lunsford at second and Brinlee at third. Left fielder Roden, Ingraham at center, Brimmer at pitcher, and Allen at first.

The ladies had a rough time in the last two festival games getting run ruled by North Rock Creek and Ripley, both ranked teams.
