Haskell Keith King, 88, passed away on February 3, 2026 in Oberlin, Kansas. Haskell was born on September g, 1937 to Haskell Clovis and Farran Ruby (Graham) King in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Keith was a twin, sharing his birthday with his sister, Karol King Smith.
Keith grew up in Drumright, Oklahoma, where he attended Drumright High School and graduated in 1956. He was well-known for his talent on the trumpet, often playing “TAPS” at various services. After graduation, Keith served in the Air Force Reserve. Throughout his life, Kieth had several careers, including working as a Terminal Operator with Amoco in Cushing, Oklahoma. He later owned and operated Industrial Marking in Tulsa until his retirement. Keith was renowned for his remarkable memory of jokes and was an active member of the Lions Club, as well as a regular at the local coffee shop with his lifelong friends.
Keith married Emalee Tucker, and together they shared 43 years. Following his retirement, Keith and Emalee traveled extensively to fly fish. They spent summers in Eagle Nest, New Mexico, enjoying life in their fifth wheel and forming a second family of friends. Keith found joy in fishing, hunting, and the challenge of restoring antique cars, both large and small.
In 2023, Keith and Emalee moved to Oberlin, Kansas, to be closer to their children.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents: Haskell and Farran King; brother-in-law: Dr. John R. Smith; and many dear friends. Keith is survived by his wife of 43 years: Emalee King of Oberlin, KS; daughter: Keri King of Central City, NE; sons: Kurt Anderson (Buzzy Koerperich) and Kent Anderson, both of Oberlin, KS; twin sister: Karol Smith of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren: Kendall Anderson of Weatherford, OK, Emma Anderson of Tulsa, OK, and Ellie Anderson of Hays, KS; nephews: Sean Smith (Mary Lillian Walker) of Atlanta, GA; nieces: Shannon Taber (Gary) of Oklahoma City, OK, Sherly Smith of Oklahoma City, OK; great nephews: Dr. Sean Smith, Jr. (Kelley Russell and child Lillian) of Providence, RI; great nieces: Andie Vap (Jerod and child Maddox) of Oklahoma City, OK, Morgan Finley (David and children Leo and Elle) of Oklahoma City, OK.
