SAND SPRINGS — The Charles Page Lady Sandites are finding their stride, and opponents on the back side of their schedule are paying the price. In a fourgame stretch that showcased power at the plate, speed on the bases, and dominant pitching, Sand Springs rolled past Putnam City West twice, then blanked Skiatook and Dewey in back-to-back shutouts. It started with Lakelyn Harger’s big bat against the Patriots. The junior collected three hits and four RBIs in a 14-0 romp, delivering a double, triple, and single in her first three trips to the plate. Bella Wilson added a pair of RBIs on a double in the opening frame, while Avery McGuire and Sawyer Briscoe also chipped in run-scoring knocks. Kylie King handled the circle work, striking out six and giving up just one hit in three innings. Later that same day, the Lady Sandites did it again, this time 11-0, fueled by a sixrun first inning. Carlee Brewer launched a two-run homer to center, Wilson and Lexi Penner each doubled home runs, and Bailey Copeland singled in another. Penner backed it up in the circle, tossing three innings of one-hit ball with five strikeouts. She also finished 2-for-2 with three RBIs, showing the kind of two-way punch that makes Sand Springs dangerous in tournament play. The hot streak continued Saturday in an 8-0 shutout of Skiatook. Penner was lights-out again, striking out nine over five innings and allowing only a single hit. At the plate, Ava Pritchard drove in two with a timely single, while King and Brewer each collected two hits. The Sandites worked six walks, stole four bases, and played errorfree defense, putting pressure on Skiatook from the first pitch to the last. Later that day, King proved she can shut down a lineup just as effectively. She blanked Dewey 3-0, striking out six in a complete-game gem. Copeland’s RBI single and Brewer’s triple gave Sand Springs an early cushion, while Harger added a groundout RBI to cap the scoring. Defensively, Wilson anchored a flawless eort with nine chances handled cleanly.
Over the four-game stretch, the Lady Sandites piled up 36 runs, 34 hits, 12 stolen bases, and didn't commit a single error. Their pitchers — King and Penner — combined for 23 strikeouts while surrendering just three hits across 14 innings of shutout ball.Ark.
