STROUD — The Pawnee Lady Black Bears, ranked No. 26 in Class 2A, turned in a strong team performance March 27, finishing third at the Stroud High School Girls Tournament at Stroud Municipal Golf Course.
Senior Jaslene Garcia-Howell led Pawnee with a seventh-place finish, carding a 107. She posted a 59 on the front nine and improved to a 48 on the back, highlighted by a strong stretch that included a 3 on hole No. 14 and steady scoring down the stretch.
Senior Cora Pratt followed with a 10thplace finish at 110, shooting a 55 on the front and 55 on the back. She capped her round with one of the team’s best holes of the day, a 3 on No. 17.
Sophomore Lola Spears placed 18th with a 122, recording a 60 on the front nine and a 62 on the back while battling through several tough holes.
Junior Addy Schuermann rounded out the team scoring with a 123 to place 21st, finishing with a 63 on the front and a 60 on the back, showing improvement on the inward nine.
With two top-10 individual finishes and a balanced team effort, the Lady Black Bears continue to build momentum as the spring season progresses.
The Lady Black Bears will tee off next at the Frontier High School Girls Tournament April 6 at the Pawnee Golf Club at 9 a.m.
