CLEVELAND — Senior Hagin Sanders turned in a standout performance on his home course to lead the Cleveland boys golf team to an eighthplace finish at the Caney Valley Tournament on March 24 at Keystone Golf Club.
Sanders finished second overall with a 78, putting together a strong back nine to climb the leaderboard. After a 40 on the front, he rebounded with a 38 on the back, highlighted by a 3 on hole No. 15 and a closing 3 on No. 18.
Senior Korben Harris followed with a 98 to place 33rd. He shot a 50 on the front nine and a 48 on the back, showing steady improvement down the stretch.
Sophomore Logan Florer tied for 34th with a 99, carding a 52 on the front and a 47 on the back to finish just behind Harris.
Senior Brady Torres finished tied for 48th with a 109, recording a 56 on the front and a 53 on the back.
Senior Cole Edens rounded out the Tigers’ scoring, tying for 58th with a 116. He posted a 59 on the front nine and a 57 on the back while battling through a challenging round.
The Tigers can be seen again on April 6 at the Bristow Golf Course as they compete in the Bristow Invitational. Tee-off is at 9 a.m.
