Seventh and eighth grade boys fighting hard

DRUMRIGHT — The Drumright seventh and eighth grade boys at Cooper Middle School had been doing well in their ball games, they have lost to some tough teams to Oilton, Depew, and Davenport but they have beaten Davenport and Depew also. I saw them best Perry 47-11. They play a very fast paced game, they can also run some offense against Perry.

Dallas Robinson had 14 from inside and mid range. Keaton Baugh hit a three and finished with 13. BB Barber can hit inside and outside, he hit a 3 pointer. Kane Hollabaugh had 2 points but throws a great outlet pass for assists. Miles McIntire had 2 and rebounded well. Wiley Mattox had 3 points. Nelson Barnett had 2 points his hustle and speed do him well. Andrea Gonzales had 2 points using the backboard others playing hard were Kasen White, Gavin Lee, Bentley Ashton, and Landon Jesse. They beat Olive 39-31 but it was 27-27 going into the last quarter but Keaton Baugh was red hot getting all 12 Tornadoes points in the last quarter, he finished with 23 points. Cane Hollabaugh had 8 points inside, BB Barber had 5 points and was 3 out of 4 from the line. Dallas Robinson had 3 points but made key defensive plays. Miles McIntire, Nelson Barnett, and Wiley Mattox played hard.

The next game was with Dove Science that Cooper won 43-23. Dove was quick, but only had one offensive threat. Baugh had 15, Hollabaugh 12, Barber 10, Dallas Robinson 4, and Miles McIntire had 2, also playing hard was Nelson Barnett, Kysen White, Wiley Mattox, and Landon Jesse.

They also played Agra and won 53-29 though at first it looked like a player that 5’11” call little Jordan got off to great start for Agra, he had 16 points but didn’t have enough help. Keeton Baugh had a whopping 27 points and hit a three, BB did very good inside with 10 points. Kane Hollabaugh had 6, Dallas Robinson 4, Melson Barnett, Mile McIntire, and Wiley Mattox all had 2 each. Barnett plays killer defense. Kysen White, Andrew Gonzales, and Landon Jesse all played hard.

Their coach is Terry Mattox. The seventh and eighth grade girls have struggled. It seems like there were more players at the first of the season but I don’t know what happened. The first game I saw they beat Perry 15-6. They played great defense but struggled on offense. Zhaden Vaughn had 7 pointer hitting 3 out of 4 free shots. Camria Cray had 6 points hitting a 3 pointer. London Snell gets a lot of steals and plays hard. Other playing hard were Kanadi’ Bray, Daisy Shelton, Lakota Rogers had 2 points inside, Allyson Dinwiddie, Ariel Harris, Candice Townrell, Rylie Medlock, Vanessa Cartwright.

At Olive they lost 20-12. Again the offense struggled while they hung tough on defense. London Snell scored 6, Cambria Craig 5, and Baugh 2. The third game I saw was again a very advanced Agra team. They absolutely knew everything they were supposed to do and made very few mistakes. Craig hit 2 threes, and finished with 8 points, Vaughn had 5 points going to the line quite a bit. She also gets a lot of rebounds. London Snell hit a three.
