JPaul McHenry

September 14, 1987 – May 30, 2026

 JPaul McHenry, age 38, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away on May 30, 2026. A proud citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, he was born on September 14, 1987, in Claremore, OK, and raised in Mannford, where he was known for his humor, warmth, and lasting friendships.

 JPaul was known for his quick wit, contagious smile, and ability to make others feel welcome. He never met a stranger and had a natural way of making people feel seen and valued. His laughter and personality left a lasting impression on those who knew him. He worked as a funeral director’s assistant, supporting grieving families with compassion and respect. Colleagues remember him as empathetic and dedicated to serving others in difficult times. JPaul loved music and often used it to express emotions he could not put into words. He also enjoyed singing, writing poetry, and exploring faith and spirituality throughout his life.

He had a gentle and generous spirit, especially toward animals and children. He was protective of those he loved and often gave selflessly, whether his time, support, or resources, to those in need. His loyalty and love for family and friends ran deep. JPaul is survived by his beloved daughter, Kenzie of Tulsa, OK; his soulmate, Johnna Roach, whom he called “wife”; his big sister, Baby Blueagle Bridges-Fox, and brother-in-law, Joshua Fox, of Nashville, TN; his brothers, Teddy Jack Bridges of Ojai, CA, and Shawn Williams & wife of Norman, OK; his niece, Halen Leigh Harris of Maui, HI, and her son, Ari Seiwell; and his nephew, Christian Fox of Nashville, TN; as well as numerous adored aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carla McHenry; his father, Gerald Gaines; his maternal grandmother, Gladys McHenry; and his paternal grandparents, Jim and Mary Johnston, who played important roles in his upbringing.

JPaul faced significant challenges in his life, including mental illness and addiction, but is remembered for his intelligence, humor, compassion, and faith.

In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated and no formal services will be held. His ashes will be laid to rest with his grandparents, and a portion scattered with his mother.
