Ex-convict accused of illegally possessing gun

STILLWATER — A 40-year-old former Drumright man convicted of nine burglaries in Oilton has been jailed on $7,500 bond pending an Aug. 3 court appearance at which he can seek a preliminary hearing on a Payne County charge of carrying a handgun on Main Street in Cushing.

Pawnee man dies in Garfield County crash

GARFIELD COUNTY — A Pawnee man died last Thursday evening after his vehicle struck the rear of a commercial vehicle stopped at a railroad crossing in Garfield County.Dustin J. Laffoon, 32, of Pawnee, was pronounced dead following the July 23 collision, according to a preliminary collision report.
