SAND SPRINGS — Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics agents seized more than 7,500 marijuana plants and over 570 pounds of processed marijuana during a raid Friday, July 25, at a Sand Springs grow facility, according to an OBN spokesperson.
The OBN Marijuana Enforcement Teams served a search warrant July 25 at Can Qi Growing LLC, located at 1150 East Charles Page Blvd., as part of an ongoing criminal investigation, the spokesperson said. Arrests are expected as the case moves forward.
OBN’s Marijuana Enforcement Teams were assisted in the operation by the Sand Springs Police Department, FBI, DEA, ICE and the office of Tulsa County District 2 Commissioner Lonnie Sims, the spokesperson said.
According to the spokesperson, OBN has shut down more than 6,000 illegal marijuana farms since 2021 through enforcement or administrative actions. Many of the targeted operations were allegedly tied to black market trafficking and fraudulent OBN registrations obtained through “straw ownership” schemes.
OBN data shows that at the end of 2022, 8,400 farms operated with active registrations. Today, that number is about 2,100, the spokesperson said.
Citizens can anonymously report criminal drug and human trafficking activity to OBN’s tip line at 800-522-8031 or by sending a direct message to the agency on Facebook.
