Sandites storm back from 20 down, stun Pirates in semifinal nail-biter

EDMOND — There are come from behind wins, and then there are those special playoff nights when a team that should have been defeated simply refuses to die. In last Friday’s 6A-II state semifi nal game at Edmond North Stadium, the Charles Page High School Sandites would not accept defeat.

Sand Springs vs Choctaw promise a classic 6A-II showdown

EDMOND — The road to the gold ball in Class 6A-II runs through a familiar place and a brand-new face. This season, Oklahoma high school football lined up its stars just right, and we were gifted a championship game that feels as big as the bracket that delivered it — Choctaw vs. Sand Springs.

Sandites claim 6A-II-2 District title

On the MaxPreps website, the unofficial attendance Friday night in Sand Springs was listed as “at least 1,000,” which is a polite way of saying Memorial Stadium was filling fast and half the town was still stuck in orangebarrel- induced traffic.

Pirates close 2025 with heart despite tough road loss at Sulphur

SULPHUR — The Mannford Pirates wrapped up their 2025 football season Friday night in the shadow of the Arbuckles, falling 48-0 to Class 3A, secondranked Sulphur — an undefeated powerhouse bound for a deep postseason run. The scoreboard was not on the Pirates’ side, but the effort was there.

Tornadoes lose to Yale 46-20

The Drumright Tornadoes traveled to Yale Thursday night for a district game. Bad weather was predicted to come in later so kicko was at 5 p.m.\\ The Tornadoes looked very good for most of the fi rst half. Coach Chris Elerick said "We didn't play well or respond well in the second half.
