Lady Sandite wrestlers place 10th in national tourney

KANSAS CITY — The Sand Springs’ girls wrestling team proved it belongs on a national-stage at the Kansas City Stampede, finishing 10th overall in a massive 67-team field during the tournament held Dec. 18 and 19. The Lady Sandites scored 120.5 team points against programs from across the Midwest.

Pirates split week, are 3-4 going into the break

MANNFORD — This was one of those weeks that reminds you that Mannford Purple Pirate basketball refuses to follow the script.The Class 4A Pirates stayed home Dec. 16 to face the Kiefer Trojans, knowing what to expect from the No. 18 team in OSSAA 3A basketball and ran with them the entire game.

Tornadoes named to All District B-1 district 3 teams

The All District team was announced recently. Garret wright was named All District quarterback at large.Jagger Willing and Carsen Mattox were the injured players of the year. First team All District wide receiver of the year is Sammy Blackburn.Aiden Lumpkins was named first team defensive back.

2025 Drumright Christmas Parade Winners

The Griswold Award for Lights, Lights, Lights was awarded to Drumright Housing Authority.The Reason for the Season for Best Religious Theme was awarded to River of Life Christian Center.The Holiday Spirit award for Best Business centered float was awarded to the City of Drumright.

MANNFORD — Five games into a new era of Purple Pirate basketball, Mannford is learning what it feels like to turn the page without tearing out pages from the past. Firstyear head coach Alex Moore has stepped into the role following the resignation of long-time program pillar Mike Banfield.

Win some lose some in Agra Tournament Lady Tornadoes The Drumright Tornadoes opened their basketball season at home. Both Junior Varsity teams won, girls 1918, boys 38-36.Girls lost to Davenport 4122.
