Area Schools Gear Up for the 2025–2026 Academic Year

Summer is once again drawing to a close and area schools are in preparation for the return of students. From meeting new teachers to first day reminders we have gathered some information that families in the area may need before the school bell rings.

Mannford Public Schools 

Day one of classes for Mannford students is on August 13. Freshmen Experience is being held on August 7 at the High School Multi-Purpose Facility from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. during which students will meet with the principal, pick up their schedules, and locate classrooms. Mannford High School open house will also be on August 7 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Drumright Public Schools 

School days begin again on August 7 for Drumright students. A meet the teacher night was held on August 5 at which point middle and high school students should have picked schedules.

Superintendent Angela Avila stated the district was focusing on building strong relationships, providing excellent instruction, and creating a safe, engaging learning environment for every student this coming school year.

“We are excited for another incredible year of growth, learning, and connection. Our focus is on student success! We look forward to partnering with families and the community to ensure a positive and productive year. We can’t wait to see everyone back on campus. Let’s make it a fantastic year, Tornadoes,” she said.

School hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with drop-off from 8 a.m. to 8:25 a.m.

Bradley Elementary is located at 506 South Skinner, Cooper Middle School and Drumright High School are located at 510 South Skinner. Drop off and pick up for the elementary is at the South circle drive and the middle school/high school is at the North circle drive. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to all students at no cost this year.

Cleveland Public Schools 

Cleveland schools will opened their doors on August 5 with a series of Open House events across campuses that evening. Events for the middle and high school students should have included a schedule pick up.

All drop off times are between 7:45 a.m. and 8:10 a.m. at the front of district buildings.

For drop off of Pre-K through second grade students parents need to drive West on Wichita and will then be directed from there. The primary school building is located at 300 North Gilbert Street. Pick up between 3:15 p.m. and 3:25 p.m. For third through fifth grade student drop off is at the front of the building located at 705 North Swan Drive. Pick up is between 3:15 p.m. and 3:25 p.m. Middle school students can be dropped off at 322 North Gilbert Street and High school students drop off location is at 323 North Gilbert Street — both have a pick up time of 3:25 p.m.

Superintendent Sol Bayouth anticipated a few hectic, pick up days before things were ironed out adding that within five days car lines will be processed by 3:35 p.m.

All Cleveland students will receive free breakfast and lunch. Each building can be contacted by calling 918-358-2210 and selection the correct option for more information.

Oilton Public Schools 

Oilton students will return to the classroom on August 7. School doors open at 7:50 a.m. with the school day running from 8:10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Superintendent Jenniffer Purvis wanted to remind families that Oilton remains a Provision II school, offering free meals to all students. Jennings Public Schools 

Jennings kicks off the school year early, with students having already returned on August 4. Families can still look forward to an Ice Cream Social on August 14 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The first bell will ring at 7:55 a.m. with a tardy bell at 8 a.m. Dismissal time is at 3:25 p.m.

As a reminder, elementary students will enter through the South Doors and exit via the West Side. All meals are freethisyear.Superintendent Derrick Meador expressed excitement for the new year and to see students and families once again — “We have made a lot of improvements during the summer and we can’t wait for our students to benefit from them. One non-academic area of focus this year is on P.K.E. or Positivity, Kindness, & Encouragement”.
