NORMAN — Grace Byrd of Mannford was recently elected to membership in The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at the University of Oklahoma.
Byrd is among approximately 20,000 students, faculty members, professional staff and alumni initiated into the organization each year.
Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a campus chapter. Eligibility is limited to the top 10 precent of seniors, top 7.5 precent of juniors and qualifying graduate students. Faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction may also qualify.
Founded in 1897, Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society recognizing academic excellence across all disciplines. The organization has chapters on more than 300 campuses in the United States and its territories. Its mission is to cultivate a community that celebrates and advances the love of learning.
