DRUMRIGHT — Central Technology Center will host an open house Sunday, Feb. 15, from 1 to 4 p.m. at its Drumright and Sapulpa campuses.
The free event is open to the public and will feature hands-on activities, live demonstrations and opportunities for visitors to tour classrooms and meet instructors.
Central Tech ocials said the open house is designed for prospective students, parents, business owners and community members interested in career and technical education.
Visitors will be able to explore more than 70 activities across the two campuses, including virtual welding demonstrations, Esports gaming and health-related screenings. The Drumright campus will also feature a car show. Free popcorn and soft drinks will be available while supplies last.
Attendees may register upon arrival for a chance to win a potting bench built by Central Tech construction students. One prize will be awarded at each campus.
“Open House is the perfect opportunity for future students, parents, business owners and community members to see our programs in action and experience them firsthand," Superintendent Kent Burris said. “This event shows how we’re shaping tomorrow’s workforce by providing exceptional training and real-world opportunities in the classroom.”
The event is held during Career and Technical Education Month. Central Tech is an Oklahoma Association of Career and Technology Education Gold Star School, a designation awarded to technology centers that meet criteria related to student achievement,businesspartnerships and community service.
Central Tech’s Workforce and Economic Development team will also be available during the open house to discuss customized training programs for businesses, including workforce development in oil and gas, agribusiness, safety and OSHA compliance.
