DRUMGRIGHT — The Drumright City Commissioners notably approved a resolution that authorized participation in a statewide purchasing cooperative and handled routine business during its regular July meeting.
The commission adopted Resolution26-13,authorizing the City of Drumright to participate in The Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS) — a cooperative purchasing program that allows government entities to purchase competitively bid goods and services.
According to City Manager Shawn Gibson, the resolution was needed because of a new purchasing reporting requirement. He noted the city recently purchased two new warning sirens through grant funding making participation in the cooperative purchasing program beneficial.
During the meeting commissioners also approved the consent agenda which included minutes from the June 8 regular meeting, the May financial report, and regular claims totaling $157,178.75.
As part of the agenda commissioner approved a request to place a new 28-by-52-foot Oak Creek Momentum double-wide manufactured home at 419 W. Pine. In a separate action, commissioners approved a request to place two new 12-by-40-foot tiny homes on Lots 23 and 24, Block 25 of the Broadway Addition at 300 S. Layton Ave.
Changes to the bylaws of the Mayors Council of Oklahoma were also approved by commissioners. No action was taken on a proposal to sell city-owned property at Creek and Fulkerson or on a proposal to use $1,508 in escrow funds to reduce the city's 20262027 workers' compensation insurance premium.
The meeting concluded with no further action on either item.
