Drumright commission ward openings

DRUMRIGHT — The Drumright Board of Commissioners has set election dates for commission wards two and four. Mark Whinnery currently represents Ward Two, and Terry Young represents Ward Four.

Candidates interested in running must file a declaration of candidacy at City Hall between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. from Dec. 1 through Dec. 3. Those seeking more information on eligibility requirements can contact City Hall or the local election board. Prospective candidates are encouraged to begin preparations early.

The nonpartisan municipal election will be held Feb. 10, 2026, if two or more candidates qualify. If only two candidates file, a nonpartisan general election will be held April 7, 2026.

County election boards will handle polling locations, appoint election officials, print and distribute ballots, and determine the order of candidates’ names on the ballot.

The election will decide who will serve a two-year term representing Ward Two or Ward Four. The resolution setting the dates passed unanimously and authorized the city mayor to proclaim the election.

For more information, voters may contact Drumright City Hall.
