Drumright purchases police vehicles

DRUMRIGHT — The Drumright City Commission met for a special meeting on July 31 during which a few key items were approved one approval that moved street repair projects forward.

The Municipal Roads and Drilling Activities Fund (MRDAF) for street repairs has been a topic of discussion over the past several months from applying for the grant to finally being awarded the funds. It was once again a prominent part of a commission meeting when a contractor was selected during a special meeting.

“Only one contractor bid on this project,” said City Manager Shawn Gibson following the opening of bids.

He said Branchcomb Construction won the initial bid, resulting in the selection of the company to do street repairs.

Additionally, the commission approved the purchase of two used police vehicles — a 2018 Dodge Charger and a 2016 Dodge Charger. Each was listed to be purchased in the amount of $11,000 for a combined total of $22,000.

“These will replace the old units,” said Gibson.

A resolution to approve what Gibson described as a routine budget amendment was also approved to reflect increased and decreased revenues and expenditure for the fiscal year 2024-2025 budget.
