DRUMRIGHT — The City of Drumright was recently presented with new wayfinding signage for the Whitlock Park Walking Trail. Creek County TSET Healthy Living Program Senior Prevention Specialist Danielle Bryant delivered the two signs to City Manager Shawn Gibson on Dec. 3.
According to Gibson, the signs will be installed after upcoming improvements to the walking trail are completed.
Creek County TSET Healthy Living Program Coordinator Lisa Prescott explained the donation is part of an ongoing partnership aimed at promoting active living and increasing awareness of local wellness resources.
“The project is part of an ongoing partnership between the City of Drumright and the Creek County TSET Healthy Living Program to promote active living for people of all ages and abilities,” said Prescott.
The signs display walking distances around the Whitlock Park track. Prescott and Gibson expressed the hope that the signs would encourage residents to use the trail more regularly.
Prescott emphasized that the signs were provided at no cost to the city through the TSET Healthy Living Program. Gibson said the project stemmed from a grant the city applied for though the exact cost of the signs was not disclosed to him.
The signs will be placed along the Whitlock Park walking trail. An installation date has not yet been determined, according to Gibson.
