New storm sirens installed

DRUMRIGHT — Two new storm warning sirens in Drumright are now operational — city leadership took action on the matter during their regular monthly meeting on June 8.

Drumright officials recently announced the installation of a storm siren near the campus of Drumright High School and Drumright Central Tech. The sirens were installed and became operational on June 3.

Commissioners approved a $60,853.01 invoice from Joe Goddard Enterprises for the installation work that will be reimbursed through an INCOG Rural Economic Action Plan (REAP) grant, according to City Manager Shawn Gibson. By utilizing grant funding, the city was able to complete the project with reimbursement assistance.

The project is intended to strengthen the community's severe weather warning capabilities.
