Olive Wildcats compete at Calamity at the Club

GUTHRIE — The Olive Wildcats took on a challenging field Wednesday at the Calamity at the Club tournament at Guthrie Golf and Country Club, finishing 10th as a team with a score of 228.

Senior Tyler Conley led the Wildcats on the day, tying for 38th place with a 52 on the nine-hole course. Conley settled into a steady rhythm midway through the round, highlighted by a par on the par-3 fourth and consistent play through the middle stretch of the course.

Sophomore River Stonecipher finished 46th with a 56, battling through the demanding layout that featured several long par-5 holes. Stonecipher kept working through the round and closed strong after navigating some difficult stretches early.

Sophomore Preston Ray tied for 51st with a 58, grinding through the front nine and contributing to the Wildcats’ team score in the competitive tournament.

Sophomore Gavin Nickell tied for 59th place with a 62, while junior Timothy Cotton placed 64th with a 66, rounding out the Wildcats’ lineup.

The Calamity at the Club tournament brought together teams from across the region and tested golfers with a mix of short par-3 holes and longer par-4 and par-5 challenges at the Guthrie Golf and Country Club course.
