Six injured in Gilcrease crash

TULSA COUNTY — Six people were injured July 7 in a two-vehicle collision at the Gilcrease Turnpike and U.S. Highway 412.

The crash occurred at 12:15 p.m., according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Troopers said Edward Mays Behnken II, 64, of Tulsa failed to stop for a red light and struck a vehicle driven by Alannah S. Whaler, 35, of Sand Springs.

Behnken and Whaler were both injured. All four passengers in Whaler’s vehicle were also injured.

Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt, according to OHP. No information about the severity of the injuries was included in the preliminary collision report.

The collision was investigated by Trooper Larry Chambliss.

OHP said the information was gathered during the preliminary stages of the investigation and could change.
