Oilton Panthers to play football for the first time since 1993.
The Oilton Panthers for the first time since 1993. Cole Yancey is their coach, and he has 20 players this season. Yancey said, “Practices have been pretty good.” He said, “He’s got a pretty youthful team.” (He has 5 seniors.) Yancey says, “We have a good balance of fast guys and size.” The fast guys are senior Jackson Prather, freshman and Kashyn Prather, freshman Tripp Brown will be the quarterback.
Archie Edwards will be the biggest player at 260, another big player is Kolby Browning, others have told me Drake Casey is pretty good. Other players are Christian Tabor, Timmy Goert, Mark Mascho, Wyatt Campell, Synch Ford, Aiden Sanderson, Rodie Moore, MJ Turner, Michael Spears, Jett Rogers, Kelton Kennedy, Ben Krause, River Fisher, and Braydon Keeling.
Yancey said “Oilton will be scrimmaging Depew at Depew.” Call the school for what day it will be. He’s been at Oilton, this will be his fourth year, but he already knows what a big game Oilton and Yale is, that will be on Thursday at Oilton. Call the school about what time the game is. Yancey said there could be a lot of games on Thursday. Yancey’s goal is for team to compete all 10 games.
Oilton Lady Panthers win their Tournament The Oilton Lady Panthers won their own Tournament beating Chandler in the Finals 6-3. The Lady Panthers also beat Chandler 4-1 the day before. They are 7-0 on the season, they are coached by Aria Cole, and assisted by Molly Adams.
In the Finals Oilton led 2-0 after 1 inning. Hallie Holm singled, Brooklyn Poole doubled, Jayden Smith hit a sacrifice bunt scoring Holm, an overthrow scored Poole. Pattie Smith also walked. Hallie Holm was throwing very fast, as she struck out 5 in the first 2 innings.
The Lady Panthers increased the lead to 6-0 with 1 out. Aubrey McEwen doubled, Holm tripled in McEwen, Poole walked, Jayden Smith singled in Holm. Pattie Smith’s long single scored Jayden Smith. The third inning Oilton had several errors which scored 3 runs for Chandler. The last inning Pattie Smith came in relief, and struck out 2 batters. Jayden Smith caught a fly in center field to help close out the game. Other defensive plays were by first baseman Kaylee Hopkins, shortstop Kennison Prather, second baseman Brooklyn Poole, Hallie Holm. Claire James played well as catcher.
The day before Oilton beat Vici 8-0. Reagan Syres got the pitching shutout. Oilton has a lot of depth pitching. In the Vici game Kennison Prather had a triple. They are a force to be reckoned with. Hailey James is another good player who can play multiple positions, same thing with Demi Kennedy.
