Four injured in threevehicle crash at SH-33 and SH-48 intersection

CREEK COUNTY — Four people were injured in a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of State Highway 33 and State Highway 48 on May 26, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred at about 12:07 p.m. According to OHP, Lucas J. Thompson, 18, of Collinsville was traveling westbound on SH-33 when he failed to stop at a stop sign. Thompson's vehicle struck a southbound vehicle driven by David A. Florence, 68, of Mannford in the side as Florence entered the intersection from SH-48.

After the initial impact, Thompson's vehicle continued westbound and struck a vehicle driven by Kallie G. Ward, 19, of Cushing, head-on. Ward was stopped at a stop sign facing eastbound on SH-33 at the time of the collision.

Florence was injured in the crash, along with his passenger. Ward and her passenger were also injured. Thompson was not injured.

All occupants involved in the collision were reported to have been wearing seat belts.

The crash was investigated by Trooper Jonathan Lipe.
