KEYSTONE LAKE — Nine people escaped injury after a pontoon boat struck an underwater concrete foundation Saturday on Keystone Lake.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:40 a.m. July 25 near the lake’s north shore in Pawnee County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The 2023 pontoon was traveling west when it struck a submerged foundation and came to a stop. The boat’s three pontoons were damaged, and the vessel was towed to the Old Keystone boat ramp by Jay Boat Tow Service.
The boat was operated by Erick F. Mendoza, 42, of Broken Arrow. Eight passengers, ranging in age from 12 to 57, were aboard.
No injuries were reported.
The incident was investigated by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Marine Enforcement Division Trooper Brady Coyle.
