CREEK COUNTY — A weeklong effort involving Creek County deputies, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Drumright Police Department resulted in the arrest of a Sapulpa man who was wanted in connection with cases in three Oklahoma counties.
According to the Creek County Sheriff’s Office, deputies working with the U.S. Marshals and Drumright Police located and arrested Sterling Winslow in Drumright on August 4. His arrest came shortly after he was featured in the U.S. Marshals Service’s “Most Wanted Monday” campaign.
Authorities said the agencies had worked for approximately a week to locate Winslow, who was wanted in Creek, Lincoln, and Pawnee counties and was connected to numerous unresolved court cases.
Winslow is currently being held in the Creek County Jail with a number of anticipated charges listed. According to the sheriff’s office, a Pawnee County warrant includes allegations of felony first-degree rape and furnishing alcoholic beverages to a person under 21. Additional listed offenses include contributing to the delinquency of minors, unauthorized use of a vehicle, failure to equip a vehicle with mirrors, transporting an open container of alcoholic beverage, failure to carry a driver’s license while driving, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
The sheriff’s office also identified Winslow as a person of interest in several other crimes that remain under investigation. Those investigations are ongoing and no additional charges related to those cases were indicated in the announcement. The allegations and charges listed are accusations, and Winslow is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Creek County Sheriff’s Office has Winslow’s bond listed at $40,000. He currently has a court appearance set for Aug. 18 in Sapulpa.
