DRUMRIGHT — Drumright Chamber of Commerce leadership is putting out a call for volunteers to help make this year’s Oilpatch Jamboree a success. Chamber President Angela Titus has a vision to bring back bed races and incorporate the third annual Cruising the Hills event into this year’s Oilpatch and said she could use all the help she can get.
“We need your help,” she said. “ We need volunteers to cold call. We need volunteers to help line up the parade on the east end of town. We need someone to go out and ask for sponsorship. We need you.”
The annual Oilpatch celebration is on its 53rd year and boast fun and food for the whole family, however, numbers of willing volunteers has dwindled. Despite this the event has continued to power through thanks to a few who have worked hard to keep the tradition alive. With the additional activities help is needed more than ever.
There are several ways to get involved, according to Titus, including but not limited to sharing the event flyers, signing up as a parade entrant, reaching out to vendors, and participating in the bed races and Car, Bike, and Boat Show.
If you can help in any way — volunteering, entering the parade, or participating in events like the Bed Race or Car Show — Titus ask to be contacted by calling 918-352-8013 or emailing DrumrightChamber@gmail. com.
As always chamber members and community volunteers are encouraged to attend the annual Oilpatch Jamboree scheduled for October 4.
