Our fifth and sixth grade football Tornadoes finished second in their conference tournament against a HUGE Wellston team 30-6.
They had beaten a good Depew team 6-0 in the semi-finals.
They also beat Davenport 30-0. Davenport was big too, but not as skilled as Wellston.
They also beat Oilton 20-0.
Wellston scored first to make it 6-0 but Karter Cartwright returned a kickoff 45 yards to set up a 1 yard touchdown run by Remington Fisher so it was 6-6, but Wellston scored 24 straight points to lead at halftime 30-6.
The tornado defense stepped it up in the second half, but offense couldn’t score anymore against the huge Wellston team.
The defense of Drumright’s Jesse Tull, Remington Fisher, Beau Barnett, Pretty Minker, Kyree Jones, Kieran DeShazer, Bryton Foster, and Alex Vines clamped down on the Wellston team.
Other Tornado players are Hunter Ashcraft, Trenton Myers, Easton Cartwright, Corbin Roden, Wyatt “0” Neal, Brennan Pennell (who had a touchdown against Davenport), Robert Walt, Larry Mumford, and Mason Long.
Against Davenport Jesse Tull had a lot of yards. Others with good runs were Karter Cartwright, Remington Fisher, Beau Barnett, Bryton Foster.
Defense held Davenport to 46 total yards. The Tornadoes had 236 total yards. Karter Cartwright had a 60 yard run for a touchdown on a reverse.
Remington Fisher caught a 15 yard pass from Bryton Foster.
Beau Barnett and Jesse Tull had touchdown runs. Brian Fisher and Loren Barnett coach, along with several others.
Remington Fisher had great hit against Davenport.
