Sand Springs Man Arrested After West 5th Street Shooting

SAND SPRINGS — A Sand Springs man was arrested on Dec. 22 following a shooting that left another man hospitalized, according to police.

According to Sand Springs Police Department Deputy Chief Todd Enzbrenner, officers were dispatched around 8 p.m. to the 100 block of West Fifth Street after receiving reports of a shooting. Enzbrenner said the incident followed a dispute involving several neighbors.

Investigators alleged that the suspect, identified as Mark McDonald, shot the victim during the confrontation. The victim, Mitchell Wilson, 44, of Sand Springs, was struck in the stomach and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Police said multiple witnesses were present at the scene, and information gathered from those witnesses led to McDonald’s arrest. He was booked on a complaint of shooting with intent to kill.

As of the latest update from authorities, Wilson was reported to be in stable condition at an area hospital. The incident remains under investigation.
