The Drumright Tornado Baseball team coached by Hunter Kirby, B.J. Osborne, and Terry Mattox got to play at Drumright for districts, and had very little trouble beating Savanna 13-0 in three innings, and 12-0 in the second game in three innings. The Tornadoes looked really sharp in both games. Sammy Blackburn picked the fi rst ball game striking out two batters. He got help from his defense through from Conrad Reed at catcher who threw out 2 base runners. Cody Gregory at fi rst, Avrlin Tull at third, Brady Osborne at short.
The fi rst inning Brady Osborne walked. Carson Mattox singled, Conrad Reed singled scoring Osborne. Lincoln Fisher singled scoring Mattox, and Reed, Austing Tull was hit by a pitch and Blackburn singled scoring Fisher, for a 4-0 lead after one inning.
The Tornadoes led 5-0 going into the bottom of the third, Fisher singled, Tull walked, Blackburn doubled in Fisher, and Tull. Cody Gregory was hit by a pitch, Howdy Wright singled in Blackburn, and Gregory, Garret Wright singled, Carson Mattox walked scoring Gregory. Reed singled in Gunner Wright who was a courtesy runner. Fisher was hit a pitch scoring Garrett Wright, Tull walked, and Blackburn doubled in Fisher. Fisher, and Blackburn went both 2 for 3 with 3 rbis, Reed 2 for 3 with 1 rbi, Garrett Wright 2 for 3, Howdy Wright 1 out of 2 with 2 rbis, Osbourn, and Mattox both 1 out of 2 with 1 rbi. Gregory was hit by a pitch, Tull was hit a pitch, and walked twice.
The second game went about the same as the Tornadoes got 2 inside the park homers from Jagger Willing and Sammy Blackburn, back to back, the Tornadoes could have had several more but stayed at third base. Willing pitched the second game and struck out 5. He had help from Lincoln Fisher and Brady Osborne who pitched a great game agains Paden the week before — Drumright winning 11-1.
Hitting were Jagger Willing 2 for 2 with 3 rbis, Garnett Wright 2 for 3 with 2 rbis, Cody Gregory 1 for 1, he was also hit by a pitch, Conrad Reed 2 for 2 with 1 rbi, Sammy Blackburn 2 for 2 with 1 rbi, Carsen Mattox had an rbi, Lincoln Fisher walked twice, Howdy Wright walked.
Stats from second evening game This was the second time in a row that Savanna has had to travel possibly over 100 miles to Drumright we won both times.
