MANNFORD — The Mannford Public Library is inviting local children to dig into books and activities this summer with its “Unearth a Story” themed 2026 Children’s Summer Reading Program. Registration is now open and will be open until next weekend on May 30.
The free program is open to children between the ages of two and twelve and will run from June 3 through July 22.
“The library’s summer reading program is gearing up,” said Library Director Colleen Branson.
She noted weekly activities will take place throughout the summer beginning with a Wednesday kick-off on June 3 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature Kadie’s Kritters, a kids group art project, and more.
Every Tuesday starting on June 9 come-and-go crafts will be available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Craft days are June 16, June 23, June 30, July 7, July 14, and July 21.
Additional family programs will be held at 2 p.m. every Wednesday on June 3, June 10, June 17, June 24, July 1, July 8, July 15, and July 22. Each day will feature a different program filled with interesting stories from guest speakers and fun interactive activities.
The summer reading program is sponsored through the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, Institute of Museum and Library Services, and community partners.
