SAND SPRINGS — Sand Springs Public Schools (SSPS) announced their 2025-2026 Site Teachers of the Year last week on Friday, Dec. 5. The selected educators were chosen for demonstrating an unwavering commitment to student success and innovation in teaching.
The 2025-26 honorees are Jonelle Jones at the Early Childhood Education Center, Laura McGehee at Angus Valley Elementary, Jennifer Villines at Garfield STEAM Academy, Hadley Tolle at Limestone Technology Academy, Lisa Sander at Northwoods Fine Arts Academy, Christie Blaylock at Pratt Elementary, Shashawnee Liechti at the Sixth Grade Center, Amie Boatwright at Clyde Boyd Middle School, Brittany Pride at the Charles Page Freshman Academy, Faith Liston at Charles Page High School, and Jana Purcell at Page Academy / Virtual Academy These outstanding educators were chosen by their peers for their exemplary teaching practices, leadership in the classroom, and their daily efforts to challenge minds, inspire hearts, and empower learners across the district, according to Director of Communications Lissa Chidester.
Five of this group will advance as finalists for the districtwide Teacher of the Year award. Finalists will be selected at the end of January and the overall winner announced in March.
Chidester said, “SSPS proudly shines the spotlight on each of these remarkable educators and their impact on our students and community” and closed the recent announcement by congratulating the 2025-26 Site Teachers of the Year.
