DRUMRIGHT — The Drumright Utility Trust recently received a grant for exactly $438,130.52 from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB) for the replacement of the 141st Street water line. According to Drumright City Manager Shawn Gibson, the long-planned infrastructure upgrade first launched in 2022.
Tim Davis of the OWRB formally presented the grant check during a visit to Drumright City Hall. State Senator Todd Gollihare was also present to show his support for the project and the continued investment in local infrastructure.
City officials said the funding will allow Drumright to move forward with critical upgrades aimed at improving water reliability, enhancing public safety, and supporting future community growth.
“We are grateful to the Department of Environmental Quality and the Oklahoma Water Resources Board for their determined efforts over a long period of time to make this much-needed project a reality,” said Mayor Mark Whinnery. “The water quality for our impacted residents will be much improved due to this project.”
Gibson relayed that construction is scheduled to begin on Dec. 1 with an expected completion by Apr. 30 of the coming year.
