Final voting now open for Best of Cimarron Valley Readers’ Choice Awards

CIMARRON VALLEY — The ballots are set, the categories are locked in, and now it’s up to the people. Final voting is officially underway for the Fourth Annual Best of Cimarron Valley Readers’ Choice Awards.

Following several weeks of open nominations, finalists have now been selected across dozens of categories—from favorite coffee shops and hairstylists to auto repair shops, diners, and hometown heroes. Residents across the region can now cast their votes to determine who truly earns the title of “Best of Cimarron Valley.”

Towns represented in the competition include Agra, Cleveland, Cushing, Drumright, Glencoe, Hallett, Ingalls, Jennings, Mannford, Morrison, Oak Grove, Oilton, Olive, Osage, Pawnee, Prue, Ripley, Sand Springs, Shamrock, Stillwater, Terlton, Tryon, and Yale.

The awards are presented annually by Cimarron Valley Communications and its family of local publications. What began as a fun way to spotlight hometown favorites has grown into one of the region’s most widely anticipated traditions.

“Each year the excitement and participation grows,” said group editor Allie Prater. “It’s not just about bragging rights. These awards carry value for local businesses. It’s recognition from the people who matter most — their neighbors and their customers.”

How It Works

The process began with an open nomination period in June, during which readers submitted names of local individuals, organizations, and businesses they felt deserved the honor. Those nominations have now been reviewed and tallied, and top nominees in each category have advanced to the final ballot.

Voters may cast their selections online by scanning the QR code featured in this week’s editions or by visiting the official voting website. There is no limit to how many times a person may vote, and participation is encouraged across all communities in the Cimarron Valley.

Why It Matters While the campaign is fun and community-driven, the impact can be huge. For many businesses—especially smaller, locally-owned establishments, being named “Best of Cimarron Valley” can lead to increased visibility, customer loyalty, and a sense of pride among staff and supporters.

Winnerswillreceiveacertificate, a window decal, and widespread recognition across Cimarron Valley Communications’ multiple media platforms — including the highly anticipated, Best of Cimarron Valley final results special section. More importantly, they earn the appreciation of the customers and friends who helped build their success.

“Recognition like this builds community spirit,” said Prater. “It reminds us to appreciate the people who keep our towns running — from the folks making your morning coffee to the teams changing your oil, or grooming your dog.”

Cast Your Vote Final voting is open through early August, giving residents ample time to participate. Voters are not required to select a candidate in every category and are encouraged to vote in the areas they feel most informed about.

Whether it’s honoring the best pizza in Cushing, the most trusted hardware store in Mannford, or the town hero in Yale, each vote helps highlight the people and businesses that make Cimarron Valley life rich and rewarding.

To vote, readers can scan the QR code in this edition or visit the official Best of Cimarron Valley voting website. The final results will be published later this summer.

“Support your favorites. Celebrate your community. Let your voice be heard. Oh, and be kind to your pets.” Prater said.
