MANNFORD — The proposed Lake Estates development will be moving forward following Mannford Board of Trustees 4-1 approval of the final plat, once key utility requirements are met.
During a recent special meeting all but Trustee Jeff Widener voted to approve the final plat with two conditions, according to City Manager Gerald Haury.
“Approval was granted on condition of ODEQ’s (Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality) approval of the engineered water plans and Creek Rural Water District #5’s agreement to serve the development water,” he said.
The approval came after a recommendation from the Mannford Planning Commission, who voted 2-1 to recommend approval of the final plat. Widener once again was the odd man out — casting the lone vote against approving the project.
Haury said the developer will be responsible for installing the subdivision's infrastructure, including utilities, streets, drainage, and other required improvements. During the trustee meeting, one concern that was raised was whether the development would include fire hydrants.
“The developer said he is planning to have a fire suppression system,” said Haury.
He specified the system was fire hydrants pending approval of Creek Rural Water District.
With the board's action, the project can continue moving through the development process once the required waterrelated approvals are secured.
