Hearing scheduled on proposed operator change for Drumright Well #4

DRUMRIGHT — A notice of hearing regarding a proposed change of operator for Drumright Number Four Well was published in the May 28 edition of the Keystone Gusher.

The notice was issued following a request by Little River Energy Company to assume operation of the well from Dunlap Oil Company. The matter is scheduled to be heard before a judge on June 15.

Accordingtothenotice,interested persons may participate in the hearing in-person or by telephone. Instructions for participation, along with teleconference and video conference information are expected to be posted on the Oklahoma Corporation Commission website prior to the hearing.

While details surrounding the transfer have not been publicly explained,DrumrightCityManager Shawn Gibson said the city has not been involved in reviewing or approving the proposed operator change and has not been advised of any impacts to residents or city services.

Gibson noted that Little River Energy Company is owned by Steve Crowder, who owns several wells in the Drumright area. The city manager said the Drumright Number Four Well is not connected to city property, utilities or infrastructure. He also said he is unaware of any environmental or regulatory concerns associated with the proposed transfer and has not been informed of any changes that would affect local water resources or municipal services.

In addition, Gibson said the city has not received information about any future plans Little River Energy may have for the well or surrounding property. He added that, to his knowledge, residents have no reason for concern regarding the legal notice.

The operator change must be reviewed through the regulatory hearing process before a final determination can be made. The hearing will allow the Oklahoma Corporation Commission to consider the request and any comments from interested parties before making a decision on the proposed operator change.
