Mannford, Drumright lead regional sales tax gains

The Oklahoma Tax Commission distributed June sales and use tax collections to cities and towns on June 8. The payments primarily represent local tax receipts from business conducted during portions of April and May.

Statewide, cities and towns received $209.3 million in sales tax revenue, an increase of approximately $8.3 million, or 4.1 percent, from June 2025. Cities and towns separately received $41.4 million in use tax revenue.

Mannford and Drumright recorded strong year-overyear increases in both overall sales tax collections and local retail activity reflected in the June distribution, while Sand Springs, Pawnee and several smaller communities received less sales tax revenue than they did last year.

Among the communities included in the Keystone Gusher coverage area, combined sales tax distributions totaled approximately $2.04 million, down $26,443, or 1.3 percent, from last June.

Use tax distributions to the same communities totaled $313,138, down $3,868, or 1.2 percent.

Cleveland

Cleveland received $234,101.57 in sales tax revenue, an increase of $4,111.99, or 1.8 percent, from $229,989.58 last year.

The town received $29,129.44 in use tax revenue, down $955.26, or 3.2 percent, from $30,084.70.

Drumright

Drumright received a combined $87,826.56 in sales tax revenue across its Creek and Payne county portions. That was an increase of $12,396.13, or 16.4 percent, from $75,430.43 last year.

The Creek County portion generated $85,425.46, compared with $74,277.89 last year. The Payne County portion generated $2,401.10, up from $1,152.54.

Drumright received $25,144.54 in use tax revenue, an increase of $9,927.67, or 65.2 percent, from $15,216.87.

The Creek County portion accounted for $24,176.14 of the use tax payment. The Payne County portion received $968.40 after receiving no use tax payment during the same period last year.

Hallett

Hallett received $7,238.52 in sales tax revenue, down $525.52, or 6.8 percent, from $7,764.04 last year.

The town received no use tax revenue in either year.

Jennings

Jennings received $9,794.31 in sales tax revenue, a decrease of $669.50, or 6.4 percent, from $10,463.81 last year.

No use tax revenue was reported for Jennings in either period.

Mannford

Mannford received a combined $153,838.35 in sales tax revenue across its Creek, Pawnee and Tulsa county portions. That was an increase of $24,439.64, or 18.9 percent, from $129,398.71 last Year.

The Creek County portion received $144,054.69, up $24,998.43 from last year. The Pawnee County portion received $1,793.67, up $983.75. The Tulsa County portion received $7,989.99, down $1,542.54.

Mannford received $28,715.88 in use tax revenue, down $1,432.55, or 4.8 percent, from $30,148.43 last year.

Use tax revenue in the Creek County portion increased from $20,851.29 to $23,600.81. The Pawnee County portion declined from $8,905.60 to $3,548.33. The Tulsa County portion increased from $391.54 to $1,566.74.

Oilton

Oilton received $32,028.50 in sales tax revenue, down $757.96, or 2.3 percent, from $32,786.46 last year.

The city’s use tax revenue fell sharply, declining from $17,451.99 to $4,528.80. That was a decrease of $12,923.19, or 74 percent.

Pawnee

Pawnee received $62,924.97 in sales tax revenue, down $7,807.70, or 11 percent, from $70,732.67 last Year.

Use tax revenue moved in the opposite direction. The city received $12,335.51, an increase of $1,978.79, or 19.1 percent, from $10,356.72.

Prue

Prue received $4,907.74 in sales tax revenue, an increase of $1,044.54, or 27 percent, from $3,863.20 last year.

The town also recorded an increase in use tax revenue, receiving $1,282.32. That was up $214.83, or 20.1 percent, from $1,067.49.

Prue recorded the largest percentage increase in sales tax revenue among the listed communities with more than $1,000 in collections.

Sand Springs

Sand Springs received a combined $1,446,794.66 in sales tax revenue across its Tulsa and Osage county portions. That was a decline of $56,742.93, or 3.8 percent, from $1,503,537.59 last year.

The Tulsa County portion received approximately $1.42 million, down $64,486.31, or 4.3 percent. The Osage County portion increased by $7,743.38, or 39.8 percent, to $27,179.99.

Sand Springs received $210,140.21 in use tax revenue, down $1,118.81, or 0.5 percent, from $211,259.02.

The Osage County portion received $30,590.88 in use tax revenue, an increase of $6,770.13, or 28.4 percent. The Tulsa County portion received $179,549.33, down $7,888.94, or 4.2 percent.

Shamrock

Shamrock received $180.35 in sales tax revenue, down $291.37, or 61.8 percent, from $471.72 last year.

No use tax revenue was reported in either year.

Terlton

Terlton received $932.36 in sales tax revenue, a decrease of $1,723.31, or 64.9 percent, from $2,655.67 last Year.

The town received no use tax revenue in either period.

Because Terlton has a relatively small tax base, a limited number of transactions can produce a large percentage change from one year to the next.

Westport

Westport received $798.48 in sales tax revenue, up $82.86, or 11.6 percent, from $715.62 last year.

Its use tax revenue increased from $1,420.29 to $1,861.21. That was a gain of $440.92, or 31 percent.

Overall, Mannford recorded the largest local dollar increase in sales tax revenue, followed by Drumright. Prue had the largest percentage sales tax increase among communities receiving more than $1,000.

Drumright recorded the largest use tax increase, while Oilton experienced the largest use tax decline. Sand Springs remained the region’s largest source of both sales and use tax revenue despite receiving slightly less than it did last Year.
