Tulsa man killed in three-vehicle crash on Gilcrease Expressway

TULSA — A Tulsa man was killed in a three-vehicle collision that shut down the northbound lanes of the Gilcrease Expressway for nearly three hours Friday afternoon, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 3:35 p.m. June 12 near the eastbound U.S. 412 ramp and the Gilcrease Expressway in Tulsa County.

According to Jacob Brown of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit, a vehicle driven by 56-yearold Patrick Briscoe of Tulsa was traveling southbound on the Gilcrease Expressway when it was struck on the right side by a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Michael Drueppel of Tulsa, who was traveling eastbound on the U.S. 412 ramp.

Following the collision, Briscoe's vehicle left the roadway to the left and came to rest off the roadway. Drueppel's vehicle departed the roadway to the right, rolled over and struck a third vehicle driven by 29-year-old Juan Hill of Edmond in the northbound lanes of the Gilcrease Expressway.

Drueppel was pronounced dead following the crash. Briscoe sustained injuries, according to the report. Hill was not injured.

All occupants involved in the collision were reported to have been wearing seat belts.

The crash led to the closure of the northbound Gilcrease Expressway south of U.S. 412 beginning at 3:34 p.m. The roadway reopened at 6:27 p.m. after being closed for 2 hours and 53 minutes.

The collision remains under investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit.
