Yale beats Oilton on historic night for the first time since 1993 Oilton played there first game, when I got to Oilton there was a line of cars backed up, for all the way to Ballard’s Grocery Store. There were a ton of people to see the Historic event. It was like Woodstock only there was no rain or wild parties, or not that I know of.
Oilton kicked off, Mark Mascho kicked it to the end zone, but Yale’s massive offensive line led by Hunter Green enabled Brayden Greenfield to get a lot of yards.
Yale, coached by veteran coach Cory Bales, likes to run the ball a ton. Yale quarterback Kaden Teter didn’t throw a pass all first quarter. Yale led 8-0 at the end of the first.
Oilton’s Jacksyn Prather made some real good runs, as he mostly made his own holes, he had 127 yards on 19 carries, one a 40 yard run, and one on a Hook and Latter play, Cash Prather completed a pass to Mascho who lateralled to Jacksyn Prather for 35 yards for a Touchdown. Oilton had several opportunities to score more but their inexperience killed them, the second quarter.
Yale scored 32 points in a variety of ways. A safety, a 1 yard drive, and a lot of Greenfield carries. Teter had a Touchdown run, an interception of 45 yards that Yale ran back for a Touchdown. Austin Alford for Yale caught a bunch of passes for Touchdowns, and 2 point conversions. But the hit of the game belonged to Oilton’s Freshman Kellen Kennedy who hammered a Yale player with a huge block, He’s not all the Big, but has a lot of muscle. He will lay a pop-not on your head.
Cash Prather had 8 carries for 33 yards, and Yale was watching him pretty hard. But big things will happen for him in his career.
M.J. Turner fell on some onside kicks. Mascho had a 20 yard run. David Glasby for Yale had some nice runs late in the game.
Kaden Wierback did a good job kicking off for Yale. Yale’s defense had a lot of smaller players, but they are very good. Yale’s Noah Lewis, Chase Perry, Kyler Martin who ran the ball well also, Levi Benjamin (who is not small) Isaiah Greenfield, and Hunter Anson is not small. They were a very good defense.
For Oilton Jacksyn Prather hit very hard, as did Kellen Kennedy, Mascho, I didn’t have the Oilton numbers, so I don’t know some of the players. I know number 51 was Colby Browning, Tripp Brown did good running the Oilton offense at Quarterback, Cash Prather also played Quarterback, and completed some passes. Synch Ford caught some passes. Oilton will get better because of these skill players.
The Oilton coach is Cole Yancey.
The Panthers will get better. Yale plays at number 1 in B-2 Pond Creek Hunter this week. Cole Yancey is still very young, so he will figure it out.
