INOLA — Mannford High School’s boys cross country team finished second at the Inola Cross Country Meet on Monday, trailing Summit Christian Academy but outpacing most of the competition in the 5,000-meter race.
The Panthers scored 95 points, led by Kyson Phillips, who placed 14th in 18:45.86, and Dayne Ficken (18th, 18:59.20). Isaac Brown finished 25th in 19:20.07, while Johnnie Taylor and Ben Shasteen ran 32nd (19:58.67) and 33rd (20:05.67), respectively. Doug Tingley (34th, 20:06.23) and Kayden Jason (38th, 20:19.90) also contributed to Mannford’s strong showing, with Robert Gonzalez (40th, 20:25.30) rounding out the scoring.
Mannford demonstrated depth and consistency across its lineup, posting a 1-5 split of 1:19 and an average finish time of 19:25, positioning the team well for upcoming meets in the 2025 season.
