DRUMRIGHT — The Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for the City of Drumright was approved alongside a series of significant updates to the plan during the most recent meeting of the city commissioners. The plan outlines future plans for infrastructure development and long-term strategic investments.
“This is a five-year plan and is a living document that can be altered by the city,” explained City Manager Shawn Gibson.
Additionally, by having a CIP it opens the city to more grant funding opportunities.
The commission members approved several resolutions allowing for updates to the city CIP. The approval reflects months of discussion and collaboration between city staff, engineering consultants, and the Local Planning Advisory Committee (LPAC).
Through resolution 25-20 the commissioners adopted the CIP total capital needs summary and resolution 25-19 adopted the CIP updates.
These updates provide a detailed overview of the city’s anticipated infrastructure needs such as improvements to roads, water systems, public safety facilities, and community services. City officials emphasized that keeping the CIP current is essential not just for internal planning, but also for meeting the eligibility requirements of competitive grant opportunities.
With the 2025 updates now adopted Drumright is wellpositioned to move forward with capital improvements and to compete effectively for outside funding.
