Registration, Early Voting Dates Set for HD 35 Runoff

SAPULPA — Voters living within Oklahoma House District 35 have until Dec. 19 to register to vote ahead of the Jan. 13 run-off election for the district’s unexpired term, according to the Creek County Election Board.

The district boundary within Creek County includes Drumright, Lawrence Creek, Silver City, west Mannford, Oilton and Olive.

The deadline to request an absentee ballot for the run-off election is Dec. 29, election officials said. Voters may request absentee ballots through the Oklahoma State Election Board.

Sample ballots for the election are now available online through the state’s OK Voter Portal.

Early voting will be held Thursday, Jan. 8, and Friday, Jan. 9, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Creek County Election Board office, 230 E. Hobson Ave. in Sapulpa. Early voting is open to all eligible voters, and no excuse is required.

“Oklahoma allows early voting for all elections conducted by the County Election Board or State Election Board — from school board and municipal elections to state and federal elections,” said Creek County Election Board Secretary Vicki Martin. “This is a great option for those who will be, let’s say, out of town on Election Day.”

Martin reminded voters that early voting is available only at the county election board office and not at regular polling locations.

Voters who need assistance because of a physical disability may request help from an assistant or vote privately and independently using an Assistive Technology Interface device attached to the voting machine. Voters needing assistance should contact a precinct official the County Election Board for guidance.
