OILTON — Creek County Sheriff’s Office deputies were assisted by Oilton Police Department in serving an arrest warrant recently.
On Dec. 31 of 2025 the Oilton police department reported to have assisted in fulfilling an arrest warrant for Michael Dustin Vawter. The warrant was the result of violating sentenced probation from a previous case, according to court records.
In a motion to revoke suspended sentencing, Creek County, Bristow District Attorney Max Cook revealed that in February of 2025 Vawter was sentenced to a term of three years and six months in the Department of Corrections for burglary in the second degree with all but six months suspended pursuant to the rules and conditions of probation. Vawter had reportedly admitted to violating several rules and conditions of his probation.
Vawter had also reportedly been arrested for assault on a police officer in Sept. of 2025, however, the recent warrant arrest was fulfilled without incident per information from Oilton Police Department, “The warrant was successfully served, the situation remained calm. . . We appreciate when people choose the peaceful compliance option.”
On Jan. 2 Vawter’s bond was set at $20,000 and his next court appearance was set for Jan. 14.
