DRUMRIGHT — Jana Strain of Drumright has been elected to membership in The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at Oklahoma State University.

Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society recognizing academic excellence across all academic disciplines.

Strain is among approximately 20,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni initiated into the society each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a campus chapter.

Eligibility is limited to the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students and the top 7.5 percent of juniors. Faculty members, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction may also be invited to join.

Founded in 1897 by undergraduate student Marcus L. Urann, Phi Kappa Phi was created to recognize academic excellence across all fields of study. Today, the organization has chapters on more than 300 college and university campuses across the United States and its territories.

The society’s mission is to cultivate a community that celebrates and advances the love of learning.
