STROUD — Behind a podium finish from one of Class 4A’s top golfers, the Mannford Lady Pirates placed fourth as a team at the Stroud High School Girls Tournament on March 27 at Stroud Municipal Golf Course.
Junior Lexi Lovecamp, ranked No. 43 in Class 4A, led the way with a thirdplace finish, carding a 94. Lovecamp put together a balanced round with a 48 on the front nine and a 46 on the back, highlighted by steady scoring and key pars down the stretch to secure a top-three finish.
Senior Trinity Tuell followed with a 14thplace finish at 116, posting a 60 on the front nine and a 56 on the back while trimming strokes on the inward nine.
Sophomore MacKenna Moss placed 21st with a 123, recording a 63 on the front and a 60 on the back, showing improvement over her final nine holes. Sophomore Lylli Gilmore rounded out the lineup with a 27th-place finish at 130, shooting a 64 on the front and a 66 on the back. With Lovecamp leading the charge and contributions throughout the lineup, the Lady Pirates continue to build momentum as the spring season progresses.
The lady Pirates compete twice this week. First at the Caney Valley Girls Tournament hosted at the Keystone Golf Club in Cleveland on April 2, then again at the Frontier Girls Tournament hosted at the Pawnee Golf Club April 9. Both tournaments tee-off at 9 a.m.
