OKLAHOMA CITY — Young hunters who have never harvested a deer or have taken only one may apply for bonus private-land hunts offered through the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation.
Applications will be accepted through Aug. 16 through the “Controlled Hunts” section at GoOutdoorsOklahoma.com.
Applicants must be between 12 and 17 years old at the time of the scheduled hunt and must complete hunter education requirements before applying. Each hunter must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 21 years old. The accompanying adult may be licensed or unlicensed.
A total of 44 young hunters will be selected for hunts at 11 private-land locations. Applicants should apply only for hunts they are interested in and able to attend.
Hunt locations and dates include:
• Carter County: Dec. 5-6.
• Carter, Love and Marshall counties: Dec. 11-12.
• Cleveland County: Oct. 16-17 and Dec. 11-12.
• Creek County: Nov. 6-7 and Dec. 1819.
• Grady County: Nov. 7-8.
• Love County: Dec. 11-12 and Dec. 21--22.
• Nowata County: Oct. 10-11 and Nov. 7-8.
All applicants will be notified by email. Hunters who are selected must purchase a 2026 Youth Super Hunting License unless they already have one or hold an Oklahoma lifetime hunting license.
Successful applicants will receive details about their hunts through their Go Outdoors Oklahoma profiles.
